tae kwon-do

ancient form of unarmed combat for self defence, involving the skilled application of punches, kicks, blocks

Traditional Techniques

Traditional techniques (kicks, blocks, strikes and stances) are the building blocks of all Tae Kwon Do.  They teach control, accuracy and correct body movement, which carry out to self defence and sparring.

Pad Work

Padwork is essential to help develop speed, power, accuracy, and timings.  It simulates dynamic combat scenarios, making it a key tool for both beginners and advanced students.

Self Defence

Teaches children how to protect themselves, giving them the confidence and tools to deal with bullying or strangers without resorting to violence.

Patterns

Patterns are a sequence of movements against an imaginary opponent.  You get to practice blocks, strikes, kicks and stances, so techniques become natural and instinctive.

Sparring

Sparring lets you practice on moving partner, it helps you learn timings, distance and accuracy.  It trains the body and mind to react quickly when under pressure.

Fitness & Fun

When kids have fun, they remember skills and techniques more easily.  Games and challenges make practicing kicks, patterns, or sparring exciting.
